‘Behind the Scenes’ Mews Tour

Come and see where the raptors live, as you go behind the scenes at the mews.  Talk with zookeepers and interpreters to learn more about what it takes to care for these animals in captivity.

Experience the ‘Seasonal Round’

Step back in time with Sweet Medicine Nation to explore how the cycle of seasons influenced Native Peoples’ way of life.  Participate in the activity and learn the importance of each season, through music, artifacts and stories.

Making Cordage

Want to learn how to make your own rope?  Give it a try, and then explore the Museum exhibits to find dozens of practical examples of this valuable skill.

Get ‘Fired Up!’

Come and see our four new ‘FireWorks!’ Traveling Discovery Trunks, materials from our free full-day Fire Field Trip, and a preview of the free summer workshop, ‘Fired Up About Oregon’s Forests’ to be held in June, 2004.

Museum ‘Ed-Venture’ – Raptors of the Desert Sky

Enter our classroom and see all the materials and lessons that make up a ‘Raptor Ed-Venture’ program.  Then take a tote bag, head down to the Raptor exhibit, and experience the Museum lessons which accompany the unit.  Feel energetic?  Play the ‘Deadly Links’ game in our meadow – but watch out for those hawks!

High Desert Herps!

Have some ‘cold blooded’ fun as you explore the reptiles and amphibians of the high desert through a sampling of the games, hands-on activities, and live animals that make up this Discovery class.
