Welcome to the Oregon Science Teachers Association!
Thank you for taking the time to learn about our organization. We are the only state organization dedicated to science instruction at all levels, for all content areas. Whether you are a new elementary teacher or a old hat chemistry teacher, we have something for you.
Membership in OSTA gives you access to a variety of resources, not the least is which the opportunity to communicate with other teachers of science. Looking for professional development? OSTA works hard at keeping you updated on opportunities. Confused by state requirements? Many of the board members and other OSTA members serve on panels and committees for the Oregon Department of Education. Often they have insights they are happy to share.
Most years OSTA holds a conference on state-wide inservice day, but this fall you are encouraged to attend the National Science Teachers Associations conference in Portland. Membership in OSTA provides a discount on the cost of registration for NSTA. Membership also grants you a years subscription to The Oregon Science Teacher (TOST), our journal. Current announcements are sent out via eTOST during the school year. There are also many opportunities for involvement with OSTA at various levels.
