Description:  Take a tour with a former middle school science teacher now working for the water division in the City of Bend .  Have you ever wondered how the City of Bend captures surface water for use in Bend ?  Join Patrick Griffiths, City of Bend Water Program Specialist and enjoy a rare tour of the historic intake building and dam on Bridge Creek near Tumalo Falls .  Tour the inside of the building, hike the trail along Bridge Creek and see how surface water is piped into town, treated and stored for use.  We will stop at the Outback Reservoir Site briefly on the return trip.  Also learn about the history of the Bend water system and your role in its future.  Many ideas and resources for teachers will be discussed.  Learn about ideas on how to work with your local water agencies, both water, waste water and more.
