Action Research Conference: Communities of Practice Around Elementary Science Education

Join NGSS Math-Science Partnership Grant Leaders as they share out their action research of implementing NGSS in their classrooms and moving their instructional practices towards the shifts called for by NGSS. Find out what has had the greatest impact on student learning and science identity. Be part of the discussion to connect your experiences to the work of others around the state.

Connect with dozens of K-6 educators and district professionals who are implementing NGSS in their classrooms. Choose from a variety of roundtable discussions, poster talks, or interactive presentations addressing lessons learned in NGSS-inspired classrooms. Be a part of the action research process and find out grant participants' work around educational questions such as:

• Will the use of talk moves help increase participation and engagement of all students, in particular our ELL students?
  
• How does explicitly embedding crosscutting concepts into an NGSS unit increase scientific thinking and understanding?

Lunch and 4 Professional Development Units will be provided.
